Can the cFP-DO-401 Generate Square Wave Pulses?Hardware: FieldPoint>>Discrete I/O Modules>>FP-DO-401
Problem: I have a cFP-2000 controller and a cFP-DO-401 module. Can I output square waves with the cFP-DO-401 module of a given frequency? Solution: You can generate a “square wave” output with the cFP-DO-401 module, however the output will be software timed and have varying periods. The module contains static digital outputs, which means that the frequency and period are dependant on the execution time of the loop. Since all processors have some sort of time jitter in execution, the period will vary in time. The recommended modules to output pulse trains are the cFP-CTR-50X and the FP-PG-522.
