How Do I Use NI VLM to Create Volume License Installers for LabVIEW 8.6 and Academic Site License DVDs?

Primary Software: Other NI Software>>NI Volume License Manager
Primary Software Version: 2.0
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem:

I use NI VLM to create volume license installers for my National Instruments software. How do I use NI VLM 2.1 or earlier to create volume license installers for my:

  • LabVIEW 8.6 DVD
  • Academic Site License DVDs
  • LabVIEW Student Edition Software Suite DVD
  • LabVIEW Student Install Option DVD
  • Developer Suite Toolkit CD

Solution: Currently, NI VLM does not support creating a single volume license installer for the above products.  You will still need to create a single volume license installer for each National Instruments product.  For example, if you want to create a volume license installer for LabVIEW 8.6 using the LabVIEW 8.6 Platform DVD Installer, then you would need to select <DVD Drive>:\Distributions\LabVIEW 8.6\LabVIEW860\ as your installation source for the volume license installer.  Also, if you want to create a volume license installer for LabVIEW 8.2 using the Fall 2006 Academic Site License DVDs, then you would need to select <DVD Drive>:\LabVIEW 8.2\ as your installation source for the volume license installer.

Note: If you want to create a volume license installer for Multisim or other Electronics Workbench product, use the Academic Site License Circuits Option DVD and select the Circuit Design Suite folder as your installation source.
