Accessing Differential Analog Input Channels on a DAQ device When Connected to NI-ELVIS

Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI ELVIS Driver VIs
Primary Software Version: 2.1
Primary Software Fixed Version: 2.1
Secondary Software: N/A
Hardware: Multifunction DAQ (MIO)>>Connector Blocks>>NI ELVIS

Problem: I have several signals that I would like to connect to my NI-ELVIS unit, but I only see physical connections for 5.  Is it possible to access channels 6 and 7 on my DAQ device when using the NI-ELVIS?

Solution: Differential channels 6 and 7 (single-ended channels 6, 7, 14, and 15) are not physically connected to user-accessible terminals on the ELVIS unit because they are used for other ELVIS features.  There is no way to get to these pins without modifying the connector block, which is not recommended.  If you need access to more than 5 input channels, consider connecting the signals in RSE or NRSE modes.  For more information on the specific advantages of each type of input configuration, refer to the Field Wiring and Noise Considerations for Analog Signals tutorial linked below.
