Problem: I have Lookout 6.0 or LabVIEW DSC 7.1 and my user manager does not launch. In Lookout I receive the error: "Could Not Start Lookout User Manager". In DSC I receive the error: "Error 7 occurred at Edit User Accounts. Unable to launch user account editor at path:Why are these errors occurring? Solution: This situation occurs when installing any product that includes Logos 4.5.0 after installing a product that includes Logos 4.5.1. The older Logos 4.5.0 installer does not handle a registry key from the newer version's installer properly. There are numerous products that include Logos 4.5.0 as a component, so you may run into this without even realizing that you have such a product installed. This issue can be resolved by repairing the LabVIEW DSC 7.1 Module via Add/Remove Programs. Another method to try is to copy usrmgr.exe and place it in the appropriate location. Since User Manager is nothing but an executable, the easiest thing to do in the case of DSC is to copy the User Manager executable and place it in the location prompted by the DSC error (in the error listed above this location is C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 7.1). To find the executable, choose Start>Search>For Files or Folders... and search for usrmgr. You will most likely find this executable in C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Shared\Logos. Copy the executable from this location and place it in the appropriate location specified in the error box. You can also modify a registry key to fix this problem. NOTE: Editing the registry is done at your own risk, so please practice extreme caution when editing the registry. Remember to back it up before editing it. Go to Start ยป Run and type in regedt32 to open the registry editor. Find the following key:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\National Instruments\Logos\CurrentVersion Change the key called Version to 4.5.1 or the latest Logos version on your PC. "Version 4.5.1" refers to the version of Logos that shipped with LabVIEW DSC 7.1 and Lookout 6.0.
