Error "invalid device" in NI Switch ExecutivePrimary Software: Switch ExecutivePrimary Software Version: 1.0.1 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: Why am I getting an error invalid device in NI Switch Executive when my IVI logical name exists and the device is configured correctly? Solution: IVI 2.0 Class Driver now allows spaces and some special characters for Logical Names. NI Switch Executive currently does not support spaces and NISE reserved characters, and will return invalid device error if you try to use a device name with spaces or these special characters. To avoid this error, make sure the IVI Logical Name does not contain spaces or NISE reserved characters. Alias names should also follow the same rule.
