Does NI-Device 1.4 Support USB 2.0? Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-DevicePrimary Software Version: 1.4 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: I would like to use NI-Device with USB 2.0 to create a USB device. Does NI-Device 1.4 support USB 2.0? Solution: NI-Device is currently available in a couple of different options: Standard, Plus, Standard DDK, and Plus DDK. To summarize, the Standard and Plus options are used for simulating an instrument on a Windows platform. DDK or Driver Development Kit provides source code to allow you to develop support on a non-Windows platform. The Standard version allows for the creation of a GPIB device. The Plus version allows for creating a device that has other bus connectivity (i.e. GPIB, TCP/IP, USBTMC-USB488). NI-Device 1.4 Plus supports the NET2280 chip which does support USB 2.0. The NET2280 PCI/USB 2.0 is a high-speed peripheral controller which allows Control, Isochronous, Bulk and Interrupt transfers between the PCI bus and USB. For more information about NET2280, refer to the link "NET2280 PCI USB 2.0 High Speed Peripheral Controller" below.
