Why is My PCI-Express GPIB Card not Recognized by Windows?Hardware: GPIB
Problem: After installing a PCI-Express GPIB card with the latest NI-488.2 driver, windows does not identify the new GPIB hardware. What is wrong? Solution: The PCIe-GPIB hardware uses a part that implements two PCIe to PCI bridges. Some BIOSes are not capable of enumerating PCI/PCIe cards with more than one PCI bridge. A possible fix would be to update the BIOS to the latest version. Occasionally the manufacture will update the BIOS and the newest release might address the enumeration issue. If updating the BIOS does not resolve the issue, a normal PCI-GPIB will need to be used for GPIB communication.
