Error 0x40010 - Bad ExpPacketRate When Using DeviceNet

Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-DNET
Primary Software Version: 1.3
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem:
When I try to communicate to a DeviceNet device I keep getting the following error:
Error 0x40010 - Error, Device init err, bad ExpPacketRate
What does this error mean and how do I resolve it?

Solution:
The expected packet rate being configured for your device is too fast. If you specify a Connection Type of Strobe or Poll and set Poll Mode to Automatic, then the value you set for expected packet rate is ignored and the expected packet rate is determined automatically by NI-DNET. If your device is not able to respond at this packet rate, you will get the 0x40010 error.

To resolve this issue, consult your device's user manual or the device manufacturer to find out what packet rates your device can respond to. Set Poll Mode to Individual and Exp Packet Rate to the packet rate the device manufacturer recommends.

Note: Using a Poll Mode of Scanned will also work and may optimize your program. Refer to the DNET User Manual for more information. Scanned and Individual polling are covered in NI-DNET Programming Techniques»Configuring I/O Connection.
