Conflicting Versions of CVI Run-time Engine During InstallPrimary Software: LabWindows/CVI Run-Time EnginePrimary Software Version: 6.0 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: I previously had a version of the CVI run-time engine installed on my machine. I un-installed this version of the engine in order to install an older version of the CVI run-time engine. When I run the installer for the older version, it says that it cannot install because a newer version of the run-time engine is already installed. Solution: The un-installer for the run-time engine does not always remove the actual DLLs associated with the run-time engine. The older version run-time installer detects these newer DLLs, and won't install. These DLLs can be manually removed by going into the C:\Windows\system32. The files that must be removed are cvirte.dll and cvirt.dll. Navigate to this directory and delete or rename these two files. After doing this, the installer for the older version of the run-time engine should run successfully.Related Links: Attachments:
