Can Lookout Communicate with any Third-party Ethernet Device?

Primary Software: Lookout
Primary Software Version: 5.0
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software:

Problem: I want my Lookout application to communicate with an Ethernet-enabled device for which Lookout does not have a driver. Is there any way to communicate with it?

Solution: If the Ethernet device can transmit and accept ASCII data using standard TCP and UDP protocols, you can use the IPASCII object in Lookout to communicate with it. Refer to the Lookout Help and the Knowledge base article linked below for more information about the IPASCII object.
