Why Do I Get "MAX Database Connection Error" When Using NOD32 Anti-Virus Software?Primary Software: Utility Software>>Measurement & Automation ExplorerPrimary Software Version: 4.0 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: I am getting "MAX Database Connection Error" in Measurement and Automation Explorer, and I have NOD32 Anti-Virus software. What is going on, and what can I do? Solution: The Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) uses the NI Service Locator to locate the service that controls the MAX database. The NI Service Locator uses the HTTP protocol to find the service, however this is blocked by the NOD32 anti-virus software. This feature of the NOD32 anti-virus software can be disabled in the IMON Setup of NOD32. If you disable "Automatically detect HTTP communication on other ports", it will not see the NI Service Locator communication on port 3580, and thus will not disrupt it. Note that you will need to be sure that port 3580 is NOT in the list of ports just above this setting. A screenshot of this setting is attached.Related Links: Why Do I Get a Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) Database Connection Error? Attachments:
