How Do I Activate a Debug License?

Problem:
I purchased a debug license to debug my application. I know I need to activate the license in order to use the release version of the product. However, there is no option to activate a debug license on the NI Web site. Only the full versions of the products are listed.

Solution:
When you purchase a debug license, the license allows you to install and activate an additional copy of NI software that you had already purchased. If you purchased a LabWindows/CVI Development System (either Base or Full), when you activate your debug license, select the Full version of LabWindows/CVI. If you purchased a debug license for TestStand (Debug Deployment), select the option for TestStand.

Remember to use the serial number of the debug license.

Note: If you use the Auto Activate option, the NI Activation Wizard will automatically activate the correct product and install the correct activation code for that product on your computer.

For TestStand Debug Deployment License Users:
The TestStand debug deployment license also allows you to debug code in the LabVIEW and CVI development environment.

• For TestStand 3.1 and earlier, once you activate your TestStand debug license, you should be able to use the LabVIEW and CVI development environments with no further activation necessary. However, the versions of CVI an LabVIEW that will activate are limited to the versions available on the TestStand version release date. For example, a TestStand 3.1 debug deployment license will only activate LabVIEW 7.1 and earlier, and CVI 7.1 and earlier. If you need to use a new version of CVI or LabVIEW with an older version of TestStand using the debug deployment license, please contact National Instruments support.
  
  
• For TestStand 3.5, each product (TestStand, CVI, and LabVIEW) must be individually activated using the TestStand debug deployment serial number in order to receive the functionality for that product. In this case, you can activate any versions of CVI and LabVIEW. If you use the NI Auto Activate option, and the NI Activation Wizard will automatically activate TestStand, as well as the latest versions of LabVIEW and CVI installed on your machine.
