Problem: The Save to ASCII/LVM step in SignalExpress 1.1.1 takes a long time to execute. During this time, the user interface is locked and my computer appears hung. Why is this happening and what can I do to fix it? Solution: When a large amount of data is acquired and saved to disk using the Save to ASCII/LVM step, the save operation takes a long time to execute because it tries to write all of the data to the hard disk at once. This locks the user interface and the computer appears as if it is hung. SignalExpress Patch_1.1.1.001 fixes this behavior by chunking the data while writing to file.
