Changing the Startup Graphic on NI TPC-2006, TPC-2106 and TPC-2012

Hardware: Industrial Communications>>HMI and Industrial PC>>TPC-2006, Industrial Communications>>HMI and Industrial PC>>TPC-2106, Industrial Communications>>HMI and Industrial PC>>TPC-2012

Problem:
How can I replace the default startup graphic on the NI TPC-2006, TPC-2106 or TPC-2012?

Solution:
You can replace the default startup graphic with your own by following these steps:

TPC-2006:
  1. Create a bitmap file that is 320 x 240 x 8bpp
  2. Save this file as logo60s.bmp
  3. Make sure the CompactFlash card is blank (you can have folders on the CompactFlash but no other files directly on the root). Copy the file logo60s.bmp to the card
  4. Turn off the TPC-2006, insert the CompactFlash card, and power the TPC-2006 back up
  5. When prompted, power off the TPC-2006 and remove the CompactFlash card
  6. Restart the TPC-2006, and it will now use your bitmap file as the startup graphic

TPC-2106/TPC-2106T:

  1. Modify the appropriate file attached (TPC-2106.bmp or TPC-2106T.bmp) to create your new splash screen.  If you modify the file all the attributes are already set.
  2. Format a CF card as FAT-16 (FAT).
  3. Copy the modified bitmap to a CF card and rename it to bootlogo.bmp.
  4. Insert CF card into the device and boot.
  5. Follow the instructions on the device.

TPC-2012:

  1. Create a bitmap file that is 640 x 480 x 8bpp
  2. Save this file as boot.bmp
  3. In the directory \harddisk of the TPC-2012, rename the existing boot.bmp
  4. Copy boot.bmp to the \harddisk directory
  5. Restart the TPC-2012, and it will now use your bitmap file as the startup graphic
