How Do I Connect a 955 Power Supply to the 5B Backplane?Hardware: Signal Conditioning Other>>5B Series
Problem: Some of the 5B backplanes such as the 5B08 require an external power supply. I've purchased a power cord from an electronics store, and the cord has three wires which correspond to Live, Neutral, and Ground of an AC wall outlet. The Analog Devices 955 power supply has 6 screw terminals, labeled AC AC NC NC + -. How do I connect the power supply to the AC outlet and to the 5B backplane? Solution: Connect the Live from the power cord to one of the AC terminals, and connect the Neutral from the power cord to the other AC terminal. There is no connection for the Ground of the AC outlet, so you may connect the Ground wire to one of the NC terminals. From the power supply to the backplane, connect the + terminal to the orange +5V screw terminal, and the - terminal to the orange COM (or GND) screw terminal. Related Links: Attachments:
