Implement the Count Method of Termination When Programming the NAT9914Hardware: GPIB
Problem: How do I implement the count method of termination when programming the NAT9914? Solution: The count method needs to be implemented in the host. In other words, whatever is connected to the address and data lines of the NAT9914 (could be a uP, FPGA...). The NAT9914 provides no means to implement this within itself. In the count method the device that receives the information specifies the number of bytes to read. Through this method, a listening device reads a specified amount of data and prevents the talking device from sending more data. If you do not clear the remaining data from the bus, you can recover it later. The NAT9914 also has two other methods of termination. The EOI and the EOS method.
