Could Supplying Insufficient Power Cause Problems With the FP-3000?

Hardware: FieldPoint>>Controllers/Network Modules>>FP-3000

Problem:
Could supplying insufficient power cause problems with the FP-3000?

Solution:
Yes. The FP-3000 requires 6 watts of power. If a smaller power supply is connected to the module it will not function properly.

If the FP-3000 is underpowered these problems may occur:
  1. The 3000 will appear on the Fieldbus, but intermittent communication errors will occur.
  2. When you try to autodetect FieldPoint modules, the wrong modules will appear.
  3. Function blocks will not be created.
To avoid these difficulties, be sure to use a power supply with an adequate power rating.
