Problem: I am upgrading from the Full Development System (FDS) of ComponentWorks, and I need to be able to communicate with FieldPoint through a DataSocket Server and an OLE for process control (OPC) server. Measurement Studio 7.0 has a Standard, Professional, and Enterprise Edition. Which one do I need? Solution: If you are only using the OPC server to communicate with FieldPoint in Microsoft Visual Studio .NET, any version will do. However, if you are using DataSocket, the Professional Edition is required for the DataSocket Server and UI DataSocket binding. Both the Professional and Enterprise Editions include ActiveX support for Visual Studio 6.0. If you are using Visual Basic 6.0 and/or Visual C++ 6.0, you will require Measurement Studio support for Visual Studio 6.0, which is only available with Professional or higher.
