How Do I Change The Peak Current Per Phase On My nuDrive?

Hardware: Motion Control>>Power Drives

Problem: I want to change the peak current per phase output value of my nuDrive. I do not see any switches or other method for changing the current setting on the outside of the nuDrive. How can I change it?

Solution: According to page 23 of the "nuDrive Accessory User Guide", you can change the peak current per phase delivered by the nuDrive power drive. The diagram shows a connector block where you can connect the two resistors that determine how much peak current will be output by the drive

First, disconnect the power cord of the nuDrive. In order to have access to this connector block you will need to open the top cover of the nuDrive, by removing the screws that hold the cover in place. Once you have the top cover removed you will see that the drives are attached to an aluminum block which is attached to the bottom cover as well. You will need to find the bottom screws (on the bottom cover) that will free this aluminum block so you will have access to the connector blocks for the resistors. Pull the block out of the nuDrive carefully since you have all the wires connected and proceed to install the corresponding resistors according to Figure 21 on page 23 and the formulas on page 24 of the "nuDrive Accessory User Guide". Reinstall the aluminum block and the top cover and plug in the power cord. Your nuDrive is ready.
