Lookout Web Client Crashes If Run on a Multiprocessor or Hyperthreaded Machine Primary Software: LookoutPrimary Software Version: 5.1 Primary Software Fixed Version: 5.1 Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: I am trying to open a webpage that has been exported from Lookout using the Export Web Server Files option. Why does Internet Explorer crash when I try to open the htm file? The machine that I am using is hyperthreaded or multiprocessor. Solution: A fixed version of Lookout5108.ocx is available from the Lookout fixes section on www.ni.com/downloads. After the fix has been applied to the server computer, the following steps need to be taken: 1. On each client go to C:\(WINDOWS)\Downloaded Program Files\, right-click on LookoutCtrl.5.1.0.8 Class and choose Remove. (WINDOWS) may be Windows or WinNT depending on the OS. 2. On the server export the process again from Lookout. 3. Load the process htm webpage file on the client. This will download the new lookout5108.ocx to the client computer.
