PXI-8108 or PXI-8110 and Third Party Hardware Issues

Hardware: PXI/CompactPCI>>Controllers>>PXI-8108

Problem:
My PXI-8108 or PXI-8110 is showing communication issues with third party hardware. I'm seeing at least one of the following symptoms:
  • Certain registers are inaccessible causing certain features to be unavailable
  • Some PXI modules fail to show up
  • The controller fails to boot when specific boards or specific combinations of boards are present

Solution:
To resolve this issue, update the BIOS on your PXI-8108 or PXI-8110. The issue is caused by a bug in the BIOS that was allocating resources incorrectly. This issue has been resolved in BIOS version 1.3.1 or later. Download the latest BIOS version and updater utility from the links in the related section, then follow the instructions in the KnowledgeBase 2GIGKD0Z: Determining and Upgrading PXI and VXI Embedded Controller BIOS Versions article to update the BIOS.
