Lookout Error "Process Registration Failed" When Opening a Process

Primary Software: Lookout
Primary Software Version: 5.0
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem:
Whenever I try to open an existing process or create a new one, Lookout takes a long time to open it. Finally I see an error message saying Process registration failed. When I click on OK it continues to open the process fine. I get this error even when I try to recompile and open a source .lks file. What could be causing this?

Solution:
This error is generated when the Lookout Classified Ads service lkads.exe is not running or hasn't been loaded properly.
  1. Go to the Windows Task Manager by pressing <Ctrl-Alt-Delete> in Windows.
  2. Look under the Process tab. Make sure that lkads.exe is one of the processes running.
  3. Go to the Control Panel in Windows and open the Administrative Tools link.
  4. Open Services and make sure that the Lookout Classified Ads service is set to Automatic.
  5. If the process is stopped, start the process. If it is running, restart the process. This should fix the error.
If you still get the error, upgrade/reinstall the latest version of Logos (see link below).
