Improperly Grounded DGND2 Terminal When Using BNC-2090 with M-Series DAQ DevicesHardware: Multifunction DAQ (MIO)>>Connector Blocks>>BNC-2090
Problem: The DGND2 line of the BNC-2090 accessory must be manually connected to digital ground when used with an M-Series DAQ device. Solution: When connecting the BNC-2090 accessory to an M-Series DAQ device, the DGND2 line exposed through the screw terminals is not connected to the digital ground of the DAQ device. When connecting the BNC-2090 to an E-Series DAQ device, both the DGND1 and DGND2 lines are connected to the digital ground of the DAQ device. The DGND1 terminal of the BNC-2090 is connected to the digital ground of the E-Series DAQ device through DGND via pin 15, and the DGND2 terminal of the BNC-2090 is connected to the digital ground of the E-Series DAQ device through DGND via pin 39. To accommodate additional digital lines to M-Series devices, pin 39 was changed from a DGND to digital line P2.7. Because of this change, DGND2 has no connection to the digital ground of an M-Series device. To properly ground the DGND2 line when connecting the BNC-2090 to an M-Series DAQ device, it must be manually shorted to DGND1 with an external wire. See the BNC-2090 User Manual for descriptions of the screw terminals of the BNC-2090.
