Problem: The power switch of my PXI chassis has two selections, "ON" and "Standby". What does "Standby" mean? Solution: The power switches of PXI chassis say "Standby" instead of "OFF" because when in the "Standby" position the power supply is still energized. In this position there is no power being supplied to the PXI backplane or the chassis cooling fans. When the chassis power switch is in the "Standby" position you can add and remove PXI modules, controllers, or unplug the power cord from the wall.
