DAQmx Error Code -89130: Device is not Available for Routing
Hardware: Multifunction DAQ (MIO)
Problem: I am unable to access my multifunction DAQ board when using DAQmx. When I try to acquire data, I always receive the following error message:
Error -89130: Device is not Available for Routing. What should I do?
Solution: When you encounter this error, please try the following steps:
- First, try to reset the device in the Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX). Open up MAX, then find your device under Devices and Interfaces. At this point, right-click your device and select Reset Device. If you see error -88705 when you reset, see the related links below to check the status of NI Device Loader.
- If the reset fails, try to reinstall the device. To do so, we'll first remove the device from the Windows Device Manager. (You can access the Device Manager by right-clicking your My Computer icon, and selecting Properties. From there, click the Hardware tab, and select Device Manager. Find your device by expanding the Data Acquisition folder, and uninstall it by right-clicking the device and choosing Uninstall. Follow the prompts to uninstall your device.)
- At this point, you are ready to reinstall the device. Navigate to your Control Panel, and select Add Hardware. Windows should automatically detect the device, and allow the Add New Hardware Wizard to automatically choose the driver for your hardware.
- After the device has been successfully reinstalled, try the self-test and Test Panels in MAX again. If that succeeds, go ahead and try to run your application.
