Why Do I Get Error 50202?

Problem:
I am using NI software and I get error 50202.  What is going on?



Solution:
Error 50202 is a very generic error that can occur in many different situations for many different reasons.  There are two cases we have identified specifically that cause the error:

• If you are using an E series or an M series Data Acquisition (DAQ) with a ASUS® P4S433 motherboard and BIOS version 1007, you will receive the error when trying to perform a self-test, reset the device, or open the test panels in Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX).  In this particular case, all you have to do is upgrade the BIOS to ASUS BIOS 1010.  Refer to the ASUSTek Computer Inc. website for more information.
  
  
• This might be caused by an AMD multi-core/multi-processor issue.  If you are using a system with an AMD multi-core or multi-processor setup, please see KnowledgeBase 4BFBEIQA: AMD Multi-Core/CPU Systems Can Cause Unexpected Behavior in NI Driver Software.
