Component Toolbar Grayed Out in Multisim
Primary Software: Electronics Workbench>>Multisim
Primary Software Version: 10.0.1
Primary Software Fixed Version: 10.0.1
Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: Many of the toolbars that I commonly use in Multisim are grayed out including the component toolbar. I am not able to place any components on the work area.
How do I fix this?
Solution: The options available in the Global Restrictions allow you to enable and disable toolbars. To fix this issue with toolbars grayed-out, we can simply return the toolbar options to its default settings.
- Select Options » Global Restrictions.
- Enter the password, which is by default Rodney. (Password is case sensitive)
- Under the General tab uncheck all the check boxes.
- Click the OK button to save the new settings and exit the Global Restrictions dialog box.
All toolbars will now return to the Multisim environment.
If you do not see Global Restrictions under the Options menu follow these steps:
- Position the mouse pointer in any empty area inside the toolbar region of the Multisim interface.
- Right-click and select Customize.
- Under the Categories list scroll down and highlight Options.
- Under the Commands list locate Global Restrictions.
You will now click-and-drag the Global Restrictions item and place it to the Options menu.
- Select Global Restriction and left click-and-hold with the mouse. You will notice a rectangle attached to end of your mouse pointer.
- Continue to hold the mouse button down and drag the rectangle to the Options menu of the Multisim environment.
- The Options menu will show up and you can release the mouse button to add the rectangle to the Options menu.
- Global Restrictions is now available under the Options menu. Now perform steps a, b, c and d above.
