Where Do I Place My Startup.ms File for Xmath? Primary Software: MATRIXxPrimary Software Version: 6.3 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: I would like Xmath to use a startup MathScript when the program launches. Where should I place this startup.ms file? Solution: Upon startup, Xmath automatically executes a MathScript file called startup.ms. Xmath looks for startup.ms in a number of predefined directories in the following order:
Note: XMATH_STARTUP and HOME are environment variables that you must define prior to launching Xmath. The XMATH_STARTUP variable can contain a list of directories separated by spaces and Xmath will search each directory for the startup.ms to execute. To set an environment variable right-click on "My Computer" and select Properties. In the Advanced tab select "Environment Variables" . You can set a new system variable with a name XMATH_STARTUP and value pointing to the directory (or directories) where the startup.ms file will be located. If you choose option 3 (not setting environment variables) you will need to know the default directory that Xmath launches into. Launch Xmath and type the command show directory. This is the default directory. You should place the startup.ms file in this directory. In Windows you can modify the startup directory by right-click on the shortcut that is used to launch Xmath and choosing properties. Related Links: Attachments:
