Using the SCXI-1180 or SCXI-1181 Modules in a PXI Combination Chassis

Hardware: SCXI>>Terminal Blocks

Problem: SCXI modules can be controlled through the internal backplane in the combination PXI chassis, PXI-1010 and PXI-1011. How can I access the signals from my data acquisition (DAQ) board with the SCXI-1180 or SCXI-1181 using this configuration?

Solution: The SCXI-1180 feedthrough module and SCXI-1181 breadboard module require a connection to the 50-pin connector on the top of the back of the module to allow proper signal access. Either module could be used in the SCXI-1010 chassis if a cable is run from the front of the PXI DAQ device around to the back of the SCXI device. However, neither can be connected only through the internal backplane like most modules can. In the PXI-1011, there is no access to the back of the SCXI portion, so it is not possible to use the SCXI-1180 or SCXI-1181.
