Issue Details

  • I place a DAQ Assistant on my block diagram and the terminals to connect inputs or outputs are missing or don’t show up. Sometimes nothing happens, or the Express VI block does not expand or update. How can I access the terminals?
  • I am wanting to wire a specific terminal in DAQ Assistant, but the terminals are not visible. How do I make the terminals appear?

Solution

There are several possible reasons that the inputs and outputs are not appearing on the DAQ Assistant:
  1. If you exited from the DAQ Assistant setup dialog box without finishing the configuration and selecting OK, your DAQ Assistant will still show up on your block diagram, but it will not have any terminals.
  • To change this, double-click on the DAQ Assistant, perform any necessary configuration, and select OK.
  1. This can also occur if you have turned off ActiveX in your LabVIEW Options.
  • To remedy this select Tools»Options...»VI Server and ensure that the ActiveX box is checked.
  • Additionally you may delete your LabVIEW INI file where this configuration is saved.  With a restart of LabVIEW a new INI file will be generated restoring all default settings (where ActiveX is enabled).
  1. If the DAQ Assistant has been configured, it can still fail to generate inputs if there is a conflict with User Account Control (UAC) on Windows Vista or 7.
  • This can be resolved by disabling User Account Control (UAC).
