How Can I Lock My Sequence File From Editing and/or Viewing?

Primary Software: TestStand
Primary Software Version: 4.1.1
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem:
I would like to password protect my sequence file to prevent users from editing or viewing my code without a password. How can I accomplish this?

Solution:
A sequence file can be password protected by following these steps:
  1. Open the sequence file you would like to protect in the sequence editor.
  2. Navigate to Edit»Sequence File Properties.
  3. Select the Advanced tab in the Sequence File Properties dialog.

  4. Under Password Protection, select the degree of protection to use, and specify a password:
  • Disabled - Password protection will not be used for the sequence file
  • Not Editable - Users will be able to view the sequence without a password, but cannot edit.
  • Not Viewable - Users cannot view or edit the sequence without a password.
Password protecting your sequence files is a good idea if you plan to distribute the sequence openly and do not want others using your code without permission. If you are using LabVIEW code modules, be sure to protect them as well.
