Problem: I have a GigE Vision Camera and I can get images in MAX and LabVIEW. However, when I open the Acquire Image (IEEE 1394 or GigE) step, I am able to set it up properly and change attributes. However, when I click OK, the step always fails. Vision Builder AI puts the step in the State window but the step always fails and no image is displayed. Solution: This error is caused due to a mismatch in software between the camera manufacturer and National Instruments. In order to fix this issue, you will need to install an NI-IMAQdx patch. There are two different patches for different versions of NI-IMAQdx. If you have NI-IMAQdx 3.0.0, please upgrade to NI-IMAQdx 3.0.1 by installing Vision Acquisition Software 8.2.3 before applying a patch. If you have NI-IMAQdx 3.0.1, please use the NI-IMAQdx 3.0.2 patch. If you have NI-IMAQdx 3.1.0, please use the NI-IMAQdx 3.1.1 patch. Do not use the NI-IMAQdx 3.1.1 patch on previous versions of NI-IMAQdx as this will lead to corruption of your install base. This issue has been fixed on NI-IMAQdx versions greater than 3.1.0. Instructions: Download and extract the appropriate patch from the links below. Then run the file imaqdx.msi. After installing the patch, you will need to reboot and activate NI-IMAQdx again.
