Problem: I have a GigE Vision Camera and I can acquire images in MAX and LabVIEW. However, when I open the Acquire Image (IEEE 1394 or GigE) step in Vision Builder AI (VBAI), I am able to configure the camera properly and change attributes, but when I click OK, the step always fails. Vision Builder AI puts the step in the State window but the step always fails and no image is displayed. Solution: This error is caused due to a mismatch in software between the camera manufacturer and National Instruments. In order to fix this issue, you will need to install an NI-IMAQdx patch. There are two different patches for different versions of NI-IMAQdx.
Download and extract the appropriate patch from the links below. Then run the file imaqdx.msi. After installing the patch, you will need to reboot and activate NI-IMAQdx again. Your existing serial number will activate the patched product. This specific issue has been fixed on NI-IMAQdx versions greater than 3.1.0.
