Why Can't I See an R-Series or cRIO Device as a Target in LabVIEW?Hardware: CompactRIO
Problem: In the project explorer window of LabVIEW I can't add my RIO device as a target. What could be the problem? Solution: You either do not have the NI-RIO driver installed or you do not have the correct version of NI-RIO installed for your versions of LabVIEW, LabVIEW FPGA and LabVIEW RT. The proper version of NI-RIO needs to be installed on both the Host PC as well as the RT controller. You can determine the versions of installed NI Software by expanding the software tab in MAX (Measurement & Automation Explorer). The software tab under My System will show what is installed on the host machine and the software tab under the RIO device will show what is installed on the RIO device. For LabVIEW 8.x, LabVIEW RT 8.x and LabVIEW FPGA 8.x Use NI-RIO 3.0.1 http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/1162/lang/en For LabVIEW 7.x, LabVIEW RT 1.x and LabVIEW FPGA 1.x http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/170/lang/en Related Links: Drivers and Updates: NI-RIO 3.0.1 - Windows, Real-Time OS Drivers and Updates: NI-RIO 1.3.1 - Real-Time OS, Windows Attachments:
