Why Does My Computer Shut Down Improperly After Installing Lookout? Primary Software: LookoutPrimary Software Version: 6.0 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: I recently installed Lookout on my computer. When I installed the software, I installed all of the features available. Now that I have Lookout installed, whenever I go to shutdown my computer, the computer looks like it is about to shutdown, but then just hangs and displays a light blue screen with nothing on it. The only way to get my computer to turn off at this point is to physically reset it. Why is this happening and what can I do to avoid it? Solution: Lookout contains software that can prevent operators from using certain options within the computer environment. This software is known as the NI Keyboard Driver Filter. By default, this software is not installed, because in many cases it is unnecessary. If you went through and selected everything in the Lookout installer, then you probably installed this piece of software. Uninstalling this keyboard filter software should remove the problem.
