PXIe Revision B Chassis Performance

Hardware: PXI/CompactPCI>>Chassis>>PXIe-1062Q

Problem:

I have a PXIe-1065 system with an  Arbitrary Waveform Generator and a Digitizer amongst other instruments. I've noticed a very slow performance when using the Arb. How can I improve this performance?

Solution:
We have encountered an issue with the PLX switch used in Rev B PXIe-1065 chassis.  When having an upstream board (digitizers) behind the same bridge as a downstream board (Arbs), a problem in the switch causes the downstream boards to starve. This can cause up to 50% performance decrease on any downstream board.

Slots 9 through 14 are located behind this PLX switch. In order to avoid this performance problem ensure that both boards are not located, behind, the bridge (slots 9-14). Either by placing them in slots 7 and 8 or by placing one in slot 7 or 8 and the other behind the bridge.

For a detailed chassis backplane setup please reference the PXIe-1065 Functionality knowledge base linked below.
