Problem:
When setup initializes for an MSI installer such as the driver CD, the installation halts and displays a prompt that reads, "Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher is required. Please see http://www.microsoft.com/ie for more information on how you can download Internet Explorer." However, I have Internet Explorer 4.0 or later installed. How do I fix this error?

Solution:
Unregister Windows Installer, and then reregister Windows Installer. To do this, follow these steps:

1. On the "Start" menu, click "Run:.

2. In the "Open" box, type "msiexec /unreg", and then press ENTER.

3. On the "Start" menu, click "Run".

4. In the "Open" box, type "msiexec /regserver", and then press ENTER.
