Issues With Using PXI-8108/8110 With Third-Party PXI DevicesHardware: PXI/CompactPCI>>Controllers>>PXI-8108
Problem: I'm seeing one of the following or similar issues with my PXI-8108/8110 and third-party PXI card: My third-party card is not recognized in either Windows or a Real-Time OS, I’m having troubles communicating with my third-party card My PXI Controller won’t POST when powered. Why am I seeing this behavior, and what can I do to fix it? Solution: This behavior is due to a new feature of the 8108/8110 controller that allows the hot-swapping of an ExpressCard. This new feature uses the same PXI BAR 1 addressing that certain third-party PXI cards use. The third-party PXI card's communication is being overwritten by this new feature, which may cause the above issues. PXI-8108/8110 BIOS versions 1.3 and later fix this addressing. Upgrading your PXI-8108/8110 controller's BIOS to the latest version will solve these problems.
