Problem: When I try to run block diagram clean up on my VI, LabVIEW crashes. How can I use block diagram clean up on my VI? Solution: First, check your VI for any broken wires. You can automatically remove any broken wires by pressing Ctrl+B on your keyboard. If you are cleaning a particularly large VI, in order to workaround this issue, you can lower the manual tuning settings in the block diagram clean up options menu. First, select Tools»Options from the menu bar in LabVIEW. Once there, select Block Diagram: Clean Up from the menu on the left side of the window. Click the radio button for Manual tuning. Lower the sliders for Horizontal compactness and Layout quality to their lowest values, as shown in the following image.
