What Kind of Cabling Should I Use for PXI-823x or PCI-8232 (Gigabit Ethernet) Modules?

Problem:
What kind of cabling should I use for PXI-823x or PCI-8232 (Gigabit Ethernet) modules?

Solution:
The PXI-8231, PXI-8232, and PCI-8232 have a Gigabit Ethernet port that is fully compatible with existing Ethernet standards and cabling. You can continue to use standard Category 5 (CAT5) Ethernet cables, provided all the conductor pairs in the cable are connected (4 pairs x 250 Mbps per pair = 1000 Mbps). Additionally, the PXI-823x and PCI-8232 modules automatically detect cable polarity, so there is no need to swap between crossover and straight-through cabling for different network configurations. The Gigabit Ethernet port will also automatically switch between 10, 100, and 1000 Megabit modes depending on your network’s capability. The network's capability refers to server speed, switch/router capacity, and wiring capacity.
