What Is the Purpose of the TB_Interlock Line on a Switch?Hardware: Switches>>General-Purpose>>PXI-2566
Problem: What is the TB_Interlock line that the NI-SWITCH Help file shows is on Pin 62 of the NI PXI-2566 switch? I would like to know what I can or should do with this signal.
Solution: The terminal block lines, those that begin with TB, are only used with modules that require or support a terminal block. In the case of the TB_Interlock line, if a terminal block is attached the line is pulled low. TB_Interlock is a safety feature; the module is not supposed to allow signals to connect to any high-voltage analog bus if this line is not pulled low by a terminal block. Some modules, like the PXI-2566, do not allow connections to the analog bus lines. In this case, the TB_Interlock line is simply reserved for future use. The other terminal block lines are used to communicate with a terminal block EEPROM. Such an EEPROM could be used to auto-detect a terminal block, which could help software determine the module configuration when the configuration depends on the terminal block in use.
