Transfering Text from DASYLab to Microsoft Excel

Primary Software: Other NI Software>>DASYLab
Primary Software Version: 6.00.03
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem: I use the DDE Output module to transfer numeric data to EXCEL. How can I transfer text strings from DASYLab to an EXCEL spreadsheet ?

Solution: The Message module allows you to send Global Strings or fixed text messages to a variety of output devices, including DDE. Open the properties for the Message module and select DDE Poke/Execute as the output device. Click on the Options button to define the target in the same way as for the DDE Output module. Ensure that you have the correct Service and topic names. Use the Action module to activate the Message. Enter the Message module as receiver and "DDE Send Message" as the Action. The message string can contain fixed text as well as Global Strings and Global Variables.
