Syntax for Importing Properties and Limits in TestStand

Primary Software: TestStand
Primary Software Version: 3.5
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem:
I want to import properties and/or limits from a file using the Import/Export Properties tool or a Property Loader step in TestStand. Where can I find information about the syntax that I should use when creating my file?

Solution:
It is often not intuitive how the file will be formatted from the options specified either in the Import/Export Properties dialog (Tools » Import/Export Properties) or the Edit Property Loader dialog. If you are unable to determine the syntax from these options, it is recommended to first export the properties and or limits of interest to a file. This file will have the same syntax as you will need for the input (assuming that you do not change any of the properties/limits or options in the dialog). You can use the syntax found in this file as the framework for any files that you would like to use for importing values.

Note: Refer to the Appendix titled Database Step Types of the NI TestStand Reference Manual for example syntax when using the Property Loader step.
