What Are the Two Ports in the NI PXI-8310 For?

Hardware: Instrument Connectivity Other, PXI/CompactPCI

Problem:
Can two laptops control one PXI chassis since there are two ports in the NI PXI-8310? What are the two ports in the PXI-8310 for? There is no comment about this in the user manual.

Solution:
NI PXI-8310 definitely has two ports. They are L0 and L1 as described in the user manual.
The current PXI-8310 doesn't allow us to connect two laptops to a single chassis, since there is no bus arbitrator built in it.

You can consider L1 as a backup of L0, e.g. if there is something wrong in L0, you can use L1 instead.

Note: You cannot connect a second chassis to L1. If you want to connect to another chassis, use a MXI-4 interface.
