Setting the Time Server ID on the FP-1600

Primary Software: Driver Software>>FieldPoint Explorer
Primary Software Version: 2.0.1
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A
Hardware: FieldPoint>>Controllers/Network Modules>>FP-1600

Problem: Measurements from my FP-1600 have the wrong time stamp. Is there a way to set the time on the FP-1600?

Solution: The FP-1600 generates the time stamp for measurements, so if the clock on the FP-1600 is not set correctly, then your time stamps will be off. There is an option for the FP-1600 to synchronize its clock with a machine on the network. Here is a description of how to configure the time synchronization:
  1. Start the FieldPoint Explorer.

  2. Right-click on the Comm Resource for the FP-1600 and select the "Edit this comm resource" menu.

  3. Click on the Browse button. You will get a list of all FP-1600's on the local network.

  4. Click on the module that you want to enable time synchronization on.

  5. Click the Device Properties button. You will see a list of the properties of the module. One of the entries is the Time Server ID -- this is typically set to your computer's IP address. If you wish to use a different IP address, you can change it here.
Note: You can find the IP address by running winipcfg from Start >> Run on Windows 98/95 or by running ipconfig from the Command Prompt in Windows NT.
