Where Do I Enter a Password for the FP-2000 Password-protect Resets Feature?

Primary Software: Driver Software>>FieldPoint Explorer
Primary Software Version: 3.0.2
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A
Hardware: FieldPoint>>Controllers/Network Modules>>FP-2000

Problem: I would like to protect my remote FP-2000 from unprivileged reboots. The Password-protect Resets checkbox allows a user to reboot the system remotely only when the user provides the password. However, I can't find the place to enter the password.

Solution: The password protection is only enforced if the device is Locked. After you configure the FieldPoint module, you can lock the system configuration with a password to prevent others on your network from changing the configuration unless the correct password is provided. The same password is used for the reset authorization. Complete the following steps to lock the system configuration:
  1. Within FieldPoint Explorer's Remote System Explorer, pop up on the module's Serial Number. Select Lock/Unlock Device.

  2. In the Locking Device Configuration dialog box enter a password to lock or unlock the device.

  3. Click OK.
Since now anytime you initiate a software reboot you will be prompted for the password entered in the step 2.

If you need to unlock the device configuration and you do not know the password, you must perform hardware reset and reconfigure the network module.
