SignalExpress 1.x Projects with IVI Steps Will Not Generate LabVIEW Code in LabVIEW 8.x

Problem:

I have LabVIEW 8.0 or later and SignalExpress 1.x installed. I am trying to generate LabVIEW code from a SignalExpress project that contains IVI steps by selecting Tools » SignalExpress » Convert SignalExpress Project... in LabVIEW. My SignalExpress project runs without errors, but when I generate LabVIEW code it contains broken subVIs and cannot run. Why is this happening and how can I fix it?

Solution:

If LabVIEW 8.x is installed before SignalExpress 1.x, LabVIEW code cannot be generated from IVI steps in a SignalExpress 1.x project because the IVI Compliance Package (ICP) support files will be missing in LabVIEW 8.x. When SignalExpress 1.x is installed, it only installs the ICP support files for LabVIEW 7.1. The ICP includes all the subVIs LabVIEW needs to communicate with IVI instruments. There are two potential solutions to this problem.

Solution 1: Update the IVI Compliance Package
You can download the most recent version of the IVI Compliance Package from the National Instruments website (see Related Links below). Or, you can install it from the latest National Instruments Driver CD.

Solution 2: Upgrade to LabVIEW SignalExpress 2.0
A newer version of SignalExpress is available. You can upgrade to LabVIEW SignalExpress Limited Edition for free, or you can purchase LabVIEW SignalExpress 2.0 Full Edition.

Refer to the Related Links section for a link to download LabVIEW SignalExpress 2.0 Limited Edition. Use this link to download SignalExpress 2.0 ONLY if you are NOT using NI-DAQmx. If you are using NI-DAQmx, LabVIEW SignalExpress 2.0 Limited Edition is included in NI-DAQmx 8.5. You must install NI-DAQmx 8.5 to use LabVIEW SignalExpress 2.0 because older versions of NI-DAQmx are not supported in LabVIEW SignalExpress 2.0. The Related Links section also contains a link to download NI-DAQmx 8.5.
