Using the Ignore Timestamp Checkbox in the Convolution and Correlation Express VI

Primary Software: LabVIEW Development Systems>>Full Development System
Primary Software Version: 8.6
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: LabVIEW Development Systems>>Professional Development System

Problem:

What does the Ignore time stamp checkbox in the Convolution and Correlation Express VI do?

Solution:

The Ignore time stamp checkbox that appears in the Convolution and Correlation Express VI dialog box allows you to compensate for the length of the filter when you perform a convolution or deconvolution. If the checkbox contains a checkmark, your resulting signal will have the delay you expect with classic convolution (group delay). If the checkbox does not contain a checkmark, LabVIEW shifts the resulting signal negatively in time to compensate for the filter length (by N/2 for an N-tap filter).
