Why Do I Get "Scan For Instruments Found Too Many Instruments" Error From MAX? Hardware: GPIB>>Plug-in Controllers>>PCI-GPIB
Problem: Why do I get "Scan For Instruments Found Too Many Instruments" error from MAX (Measurement & Automation Explorer) when scanning for instruments using a "*idn?" command? Solution: This error occurs because there is an address conflict on your GPIB. You must make sure that all instruments connected to your GPIB have a unique primary address. Also, make sure that no instruments share a primary address with the address of your GPIB controller. For example, if you are using GPIB0, no instruments can have an address of 0.
