Why Do I See an 'Ntfs.sys' Error When I Boot My VXI Controller? Hardware: VXI/VME/MXI>>VXI Controllers>>VXIpc-872B
Problem: I have been using my VXI Controller for a while now and all of a sudden I see a "Missing or Corrupt Ntfs.sys file" error message when I boot up Windows. What could have happened? Solution: There are three main reasons why you would be seeing this error: 1) Your Ntfs.sys file was corrupted while you were converting your hard drive from FAT32 to NTFS. See the following link for more assistance on how to recover this file: Ntfs.sys Error - Microsoft Support 2) You may have corrupt memory. Please try different memory sticks that you know are good to see if that fixes the issue. 3) Your RAM sticks may not be plugged in all the way. Moving controllers and chassis around may jostle your memory sticks out of place. Make sure that they are firmly secured on the controller. Related Links: Attachments:
