How Do I Synchronize the FPGA Clock in my R-Series Intelligent I/O Board to my PXI clock?

Hardware: PXI/CompactPCI>>Controllers

Problem:
I would like to synchronize the FPGA clock of my R-series PXI board to the 10 MHz clock in the PXI backplane. Where can I select this setting?

Solution:
There are two main ways to synchronize R-series PXI targets to a PXI backplane. They are described below.

When using LabVIEW 8.5 and above:
  1. Open a project and create the PXI real-time controller and FPGA target
  2. Right-click on the FPGA target and select RIO Device Setup...
  3. In the RIO Device Setup window, select the Device Settings tab
  4. Check the checkbox marked Synchronize FPGA Clock to PXI_CLK10
  5. Press the Apply Settings button to download the settings to the R-Series                                card

When using LabVIEW 8:
  1. Open a project and create the PXI real-time controller and FPGA target
  2. Right-click on the FPGA target and select Download Bitfile or Attributes To Flash Memory...
  3. In the Download Attributes or Bitfile to Flash Memory window, check the                  checkbox marked Synchronize FPGA Clock to PXI_CLK10
  4. Press the Download Attributes button to download the settings to the R-Series card
